Transcript:

Hi, I am Tim McNair. I’ve worked with Compass Point for a couple of years now. Several different companies that brought them in to work with our staff and our management teams.

I had been CFO and CEO of the company for a couple of years. We saw some quick growth and we had taken care of some quick hits when I first got there and we seemed to have stalled. We weren’t quite sure why. I had seen what Compass Point had done with another company and knew we needed to go that direction. When we first started with Compass Point, it was a challenge. They asked us to kind of talk differently to each other, more open, more honest, not hold back, and they worked us through that kind of getting more comfortable with the hard conversations and how to have them, their process, their hope that they bring to the table. Really, I found it challenge myself as a manager, challenge our thinking and our teams, and really drive us to do better.

We went from a group of managers that just didn’t want to meet. We didn’t want to be together. Meetings were long and hard, and pretty soon we were looking forward to every meeting, every morning, and we had set that rhythm, and if you weren’t there, you missed it and you wanted to be there. That kind of turnaround, and it gave us a whole lot more energy.
