My name is Brett Bacho and I am the president of Kitchen Magic. I reached out to Tom after reading an article that he wrote in the newspaper about what can happen to a family business when they don’t mind the store, and specifically the five Ds.
And I thought, boy, we don’t have any of those at this time, but wouldn’t it be great to avoid them in the future? The process of working with Compass Point has been very collaborative. I would say that it’s been enjoyable and that it’s a series of conversations that dig a little deeper into the workings of the business, the ownership of the business, the structure of the business, the leadership team and the leadership team especially likes the structure and how things run more efficiently.
The ownership team likes the peace of mind that we have, knowing that all the i’s are dotted and the T’s are in place and we can rest assured that God forbid something happens, we have all the paperwork and all the business organized, that it won’t wreck the business and that we can sustain profitably in the future. I am grateful for the work that we’ve done with Tom and his team. I think it’s really helped give us peace of mind, and that is really important today.
There’s enough pressure running a business day to day and having someone help you work on the business and make sure you’re prepared for the unexpected just brings great peace of mind and I’m grateful for it.
